The questions I get asked the most from other late-diagnosed professionals—is:
“Is it worth getting a formal autism or ADHD diagnosis at my age?”
Spoiler alert: I can’t answer that for you. It’s a deeply personal question, and while I can’t make that decision for anyone, I can share how I approached that question —and what made me say yes.
In the above video, I talk about:
The emotional, financial, and workplace realities of getting a diagnosis
Why I believe self-diagnosis is valid
The role accommodations played in my decision
The fears many of us have around documentation and disclosure
And how my diagnosis revealed more than I expected—including co-occurring conditions I didn’t know I had
If you’re in that in-between space—wondering if now is the time—this post might help guide your thinking.
